Welcome!

Hello, Aliciaking3, and welcome to the ISFDB Wiki! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Note: Image uploading isn't entirely automated. You're uploading the files to the wiki which will then have to be linked to the database by editing the publication record.

Please be careful in editing publications that have been primary verified by other editors. See Help:How to verify data#Making changes to verified pubs. But if you have a copy of an unverified publication, verifying it can be quite helpful. See Help:How to verify data for detailed information.

I hope you enjoy editing here! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will insert your name and the date. If you need help, check out the community portal, or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! MagicUnk (talk) 14:50, 4 April 2024 (EDT)

Dark Cheer: Cryptids Emerging

Hi, and welcome! I accepted your submission for Dark Cheer: Cryptids Emerging. I have one question, and I made some minor changes you should be aware of and review.

My question: I see you provided page numbers. Do you have the book? If so, what is the page number for "Emerge..."? I added that to the contents because I saw it in the Amazon sample, but that is for an unpaginated ebook, so I couldn't tell what the numbering before p.1 is.

Things I tweaked (all minor):

  • Changed Improbable Press to imprint of Clan Destine Press.
  • Added exact publication date from info on Amazon.com
  • Added $ to price (we require currency designations in all prices)
  • Switched cover URL to one from Amazon (we don't have linking permission to improbablepress.com but do have that permission for amazon.com)
  • Regularized title capitalization and punctuation of initials in author names.
  • Added Merrick's introduction "Emerge..."

And I added notes about some of those things and the explanation of the dual cover art credit. As I said, please review. Overall it looked great, and the fix-ups were quite minor. Thanks, and thank you for contributing! --MartyD (talk) 07:12, 22 April 2024 (EDT)

I approved this submission changing the content page number to 'ix'. You need to account for the Roman numeral sequence in the 'Pages" field. From the help section here.
  • "When a book has a section with Roman numeral page numbers for introductory material, followed by Arabic numerals for the main text of the book, enter both sets of numbers. For example, a book with a page count field of "viii+320" has "viii" as the highest numbered page with a Roman numeral. (Note that there are no spaces in the page count.) Pages without numbers that fall between the two types of page numbering can be ignored. Note that you should include the enumeration of the pages in Roman numerals even if there is no material that requires a separate content record (such as an introduction or preface) in those pages. This is in contrast with the situation with unnumbered pages prior to page 1; see the following bullet point for what to do in that case."
Post here when you make the submission and I'll approve it. Thanks, John Scifibones 15:42, 27 April 2024 (EDT)

Spoon Knife 7: Transitions

I have accepted your addition of Spoon Knife 7: Transitions, but made the following changes:

  • Per the Amazon Sample, the editors are listed as Nick Walker & Mike Jung on the title page. I have added Mike Jung as an editor.
  • Autonomous Press is an imprint of Neuroqueer Books. We list imprints as "Imprint / Publisher" and not with an "and".
  • I changed the format from "pb" to "tp". The ISFDB uses a specific set of values. I used "tp" (for trade paperback) based on the dimensions supplied by Amazon.
  • I added "$" to the price. Prices need to be entered with the currency symbol as we deal in multiple currencies.
  • As the web link is independent of format, I moved it to the title record.
  • Per the Amazon Sample, the Prologue is an essay and not a story. I have updated it as such.
  • Essays such as Introduction, Prologue, About the Authors, etc. have the publication title added in parenthesis to distinguish them.
  • I added the Amazon image for the cover. You are welcome to upload a local image if you'd like.
  • We do not record the series as part of the title.

Please let us know if you have any questions. -- JLaTondre (talk) 09:14, 4 May 2024 (EDT)
